A Very Curious Life

A Very Curious Life is a web-based project that provides users with daily inspiration, encouraging them to try something new. By seeking out new experiences, people can enhance cognitive and emotional well-being. In A Very Curious Life, with a simple click, users can receive an idea for a creative project, activity, or experience, from arts and crafts to outdoor adventures, to explore the unknown. Through the project, Zack Nguyen raises awareness of brain health, curiosity and neuroplasticity.

Curiosity and New Experiences

Curiosity is a powerful motivator that drives us to explore the unknown, discover new things, and expand our knowledge and understanding of the world. Curiosity embraces a sense of wonder and awe for the world around us and cultivates a deep appreciation for the complexities of life. By regularly pursuing new experiences, we expand our knowledge and skills and rewire our brains.

The COVID-19 pandemic had a profound impact on our lives and challenged us to adapt to new ways of living and working. As we emerge from the pandemic, it is important to prioritize activities that bring us joy and fulfillment. While remaining curious and attentive, we are able to find joy and inspiration every day and connect more deeply with the people and environments around us.

For this first iteration, I want to focus on 3 senses: See, Hear, Taste and those 3 senses guide to Feel something.

Prototype

  • The landing page serves as the entry point to a website, capturing users’ attention and providing a brief introduction to the site’s purpose and offerings. It is designed to quickly communicate key information and entice users to explore further.
  • The main page of the website would feature a panel layout to provide a structured and organized display of content. Within this layout, a prominent and captivating landscape image representing a sunny day would be showcased, setting a positive and inviting tone for the user experience. The landscape would be carefully selected to align with the website’s theme or subject matter.

Things I plan to work on next:

  • Adjust eyeball design on landing page to be less mysterious and surveillance-like, ensuring it aligns with the overall theme and tone of the website.
  • Remove the word “Random” from the website, as it may introduce confusion or uncertainty to users.
  • Prioritize responsiveness on mobile interfaces, ensuring the website adapts seamlessly to different screen sizes and resolutions.
  • Conduct user testing and gather feedback on the revised eyeball design, ensuring it resonates positively with the target audience and addresses their concerns.
  • Consider alternative design elements or visual cues that evoke a sense of creativity, inspiration, and engagement.
  • Implement accessibility best practices to ensure the website is inclusive and usable for users with disabilities.
  • Continuously iterate and refine the design based on user feedback and data analysis to improve the overall user experience.

Thank you!
